Larry Baskin began his educational career in 1976 as a band director in a wide variety of schools. He has directed high school bands at DeKalb County High School (Smithville) Tennessee, Cleveland (Tennessee) High School (Orange Bowl Contest winners in 1979), McGavock High School (State Championship in 1982). Finding true joy in teaching beginning and intermediate band students, his focus became the feeder schools’ band programs into McGavock High School.

Mr. Baskin has been an assistant principal in Nashville at John Early Paideia Middle, McKissack (5 - 8) & Creswell (Pre K – 4) Professional Development Schools, and at Gra-Mar Middle School. This is Mr. Baskin’s second year at Wright Middle.

Larry Baskin is married and has 2 adult sons. The whole family enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, bicycling, and camping. The latest interest for the family is riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles.
